All about our Band Lessons at the Groove Shack

So you’re ready to take the stage in a band setting are you? Well you’re in luck…

…We now have two different Band Lesson programs available for new or existing students to join here at the Groove Shack!

——>The Jr. Groovers Band Program (Ages 8-12) is for our newer students who are just getting through our custom curriculum books but looking to get experience in a beginning band class.

———>While the Rock Steadies Band Program (Ages 10-18) is for our more advanced students who are finished (or almost) with our custom curriculum books and are looking to take their musical journey to the next level in a advanced band class.

Just some of the benefits of Band Lessons for younger students:

  • In a group, students are exposed to a wider range of musical styles and genres. This can broaden their musical horizons and help them appreciate different forms of music.

  • Performing in a group can boost a student's confidence. Overcoming stage fright and receiving positive feedback from an audience can be a great confidence booster.

  • Band members often face challenges when playing together, such as timing issues, key changes, or complex arrangements. This requires problem-solving skills and adaptability.

  • Group band lessons can foster a lifelong passion for music. Many students who participate in such programs continue to play music as a hobby or even pursue it professionally.

We are excited to offer Band Lessons for the following instruments for students ages 8-18 years old…

  • Piano + Keys

  • Drums

  • Guitar

  • Bass

  • Voice

The pricing structure for our weekly Band Lessons are as follows…

  • Band - *Weekly Band 1 hr. Band Lesson for $30 per session

  • Band + 45 min. private lesson PLUS a 1 hr. band class for $50 per week

*Most students will not be approved for the Band Minus program as it is reserved for only the highest level of students and you must test out of Band Plus to be considered.

To join either Band Lesson program please first consult with your teacher to see if joining the band program is the right fit for your student at their current ability level. And then message us via email to set up an audition day and time with our Band Program Director: Andrew Walker.
