So you want to take guitar lessons? Who can blame you! The guitar has literally been around since the times of the Babylonians (aka a very long time dude). In today’s times we have two different types of guitars that we still use, the acoustic, and the electric guitars. Choosing which one to study at the Groove Shack depends on several factors. Do you want to play loud, distorted, and through an amplifier? Then the electric guitar is probably more your style. If you’re looking for something that’s lighter, softer sounding, more portable, and perfect around a campfire in the woods or on the beach, then the acoustic guitar is your best bet. Both the electric and acoustic guitars have the same amount of strings, the same musical notation, and strumming patterns. They are actually more alike than they are different, so if you can’t decide before your first lesson, come in and try out both before you make a purchase!
Guitar Lessons at the Groove Shack are available in a group lesson setting for Ages 5-12 ; and are offered in a private lesson setting for students ages 13+.
